Attention! This post is old and the method described in it may not work anymore!
If you have installed Windows 8 and trying to run Lineage 2 - Goddess of Destruction, you will certainly have a problem running the game. An error message appears, saying that you are using hack programs and shuts down the game.
The solution:
Update dsetup.dll:

Fixed and recompiled game guard disable dll for GoD & Harmony.
Based on original version made by Fyyre: http://fyyre.ivory-tower.de/
Dll is free as a original one.
Source is 'closed' as a original one.
This is beta version, tested it for 2 days and worked. If don't work for you, just tell... Will see what can be done...
Instruction:
1. Update client.
2. Put dll into lineage 2\system folder (replace original one)
3. Change name of L2.bin file to L2.exe (or copy)
4. Start game by using l2.exe, login into character selection window
5. Play

ReplyDelete(first time i used this, some message appeared, but under server choosing window, so i don't know exactly what it was, but definitely it wasn't same - shorter ... and ... wait for it ... second time was OK :)

does not work. L2 crashes after loading screen after character selection.

DeleteTell me the version of your Lineage 2 client pls.
Мeanwhile you can try do desable it whit this files:

I'm using the Windows 8 x64 RTM, tested with god official and not working, tested with h5 not worked too
ReplyDeleteOpen the Loading screen, but when will show the login screen, it closes it self then show a quick error window and close again
DeleteWith full version of Windows 8 (from MSDNAA for students and developers) i just managed to start L2 with that nasty error of gameguards. So i tried this library and just after login into game it says: "Gameguard Fail! Please Restart Lineage2"
ReplyDeletemeanwhile when i am writing this message pops up Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error about path/System/L2.exe Request to terminate it in an unusual way. ouch so thats nothing then.

Deletedid not work on my computer. I'm using version Win8 Pro x64. The splash screen opens and after it closes briefly before loading the login screen.

I have windows 8 pro 64x.
When starting l2.exe (old l2.bin) I can see splash screen (little one in center of the screen with l2 character) but after that nothing is happening ;((((

ReplyDeleteSorry guys but i do not play Lineage 2 from a quite a whileand deinstal the Win 8 machine! Just use Win7 like the rest of the world. Win8 it's made specificly for the tablets market. Wait for Win9 ;)
